If after a full day strolling around the city or running from one meeting to another you feel like taking your time, maybe while listening to some good music, the search for cool destinations in town becomes a must. In case you feel uncertain either to opt for an invigorating dinner or a live music session, good news for you: there’s no need to choose, as Milan boasts an explosive dinner and live music scene ready to be discovered.

1. Blue Note


Following the international format of Blue Note Club, this well-known restaurant and club pampers its guests with the best of live Jazz music and fine dining since 2003. Its menu features a small yet tasty selection of fine Italian and international cuisine, Italian and French wine labels together with a daily double live show, while the bar boasts a selection of over 200 cocktails and spirits. Blue Note music ad dining scene is not just available for dinner but also every Sunday on the occasion of the exclusive brunch ritual, to be enjoyed while listening to a live concert of one of your favourite artists from the international scene: The Blues Brothers, Raphael Gualazzi and, during the Christmas period, The Angels in Harlem Gospel Choir to mention but a few…

2. Memo Restaurant


Located in a beautiful setting previously home to the Abadan cinema, Memo restaurant has kept unaltered its original furnishing and is now one of the favourite haunts for live music and fine dining lovers. Guests have the choice to savour the flavours of traditional Italian cuisine in the central lounge area or, to enjoy a theatre-like atmosphere, to sit in the upper gallery overlooking the stage. The restaurant is also a trendy destination for an inebriating aperitivo or a post-dinner drink surrounded by the best music from different genres.

3. Sloan Square


Born from an idea by John Peter Sloan, from which it takes its name, Sloan Square pub is a must-try venue for beer and live music lovers. This characteristic pub with a typical London allure, stores over 24 different craft beers plus 400 bottled labels to be paired with a rich menu featuring British-style meat or fish delicacies, tartare, appetisers, burgers and puddings. Locals and visitors alike love spending their nights at Sloan Square…why? Because its stage is currently home to live performances ranging from a rich concert programming to workshops, comedy shows as well as entertainment in English.

4. Nidaba Theatre


Lovers of blues, soul, punk and funky music will find the perfect destination to satisfy all their music whims at Nidaba Theatre. Located just steps away from Naviglio Pavese (the side of Milan’s Naviglio towards the nearby city of Pavia) and the recently renowned Darsena basin, this intimate pub and theatre offers an all-year-long rich programming of events, with live performances by local and international artists to be enjoyed while drinking a refreshing after dinner cocktail or savouring a gourmet sandwich or, why not, a quick snack. Due to its small size, Nidaba Theatre does not accept reservations, so guests interested in enjoying their favourite live show are advised to enter the venue by 9pm, before the concert starts.

Open Tue-Sat 9pm-2am. Closed on Sun and Mon. Concerts start at 10.30pm.

5. Bonaventura Music Club


A meld of Soul, Funk, Blues, Swing, Rock and Roll and Pop music together with quick snacks, burgers and other tasty offers changing on a seasonal base and matched by a rich selection of home brews: welcome to Bonaventura Music Club. This small club and restaurant mostly loved for its lively and buzzy atmosphere, also features burlesque shows every last Wednesday of the month carried out by Milan’s Champagne Academy of Burlesque Education, combining music, entertainment and beer culture.

6. Pavarotti Milano Restaurant Museum
