This new culinary destination (check our new opening news), boasting a fresh, modern approach, is owned and helmed by a young, innovative couple, Alessandro Garlando and Federica Caretta. Alessandro, the locale’s chef, began his career at Villa Crespi, ‘at the court’ of Antonino Cannavacciuolo. His starred resume includes work experience under the supervision of chefs like Matias Perdomo and Elio Sironi, then Francesco Mascheroni and Filippo Gozzoli at the Armani/Ristorante. In addition to holding a degree in economics, Federica, the restaurant’s Maitre D’, has a passion for food and wine. The cuisine offered at Insieme is deeply rooted in Mediterranean traditions. As a result, the fish is freshly caught, the fruit and vegetables are always seasonal and the olive oils are superlative. Its menu has a modern international flavour and comprises 12-14 dishes that change according to the seasons and available raw materials, enhanced with a few unexpected ingredients.
The wine list, based on the same philosophy, features labels from renowned Italian and international producers, and lesser-known wines from smaller producers. Insieme is located in the residential Corso Vercelli district, just a stone’s throw from the Cadorna station, in a minimalist space, featuring three floor-to-ceiling windows, highlighted with pastel shades of blue and pink, with some standout pieces, including a large spruce wood table and the serving dishes, created by a well-known ceramist from Puglia.
