About the exhibition
The Milanese exhibition space of PAC – Padiglione d’ Arte Contemporanea continues its exploration of the continents of the world and their cultures with the exhibition Arte Contemporanea Australiana (the Italian for Australian Contemporary Art). The geography of Australian art, including the creations by the aboriginal populations up to those who have reached Australia from Europe and Asia in the past centuries, are displayed in a one-of-a-kind exhibition.
About cultural diversity
Installations, paintings, drawings, as well as videos and performances, analyse the theme of social and cultural diversity, in an ongoing research for each population’s origins and roots. The research and the studies on the cultural fractures and on the anxieties of the local populations, expressed through art, are expressed by a special display inspired by B. Chatwin’s ‘The Songlines’.
