The spaces of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, the magnificent house-museum of literate, poet and war hero Gabriele D’Annunzio, serve as the ideal backdrop for an exhibition dedicated to the art of perfume. Powered by Fondazione Il Vittoriale degli Italiani and by Marco Vidal, CEO of perfume brand The Merchant of Venice, the exhibition gathers over 150 perfumes belonging to D’Annunzio which are now on their first public display ever.
Divided into 4 different sections the pieces part of the D’Annunzio e l’Arte del Profumo. Odorarius Mirabilis exhibition includes ampoules, flacons featuring both vintage and uber-innovative lines – which were mostly used to nestle the fragrance Aqua Nuntia, invented by the poet himself. Spread over the different spaces known as ‘Sacro Eremo’ the pieces on display provide visitors with insightful highlights on the passion of D’Annunzio for perfumes, considered both as an integral part of a someone’s personality, a weapon for seduction and a powerful fuel to the imagination.
Tickets can be found at Vittoriale degli Italiani’s ticket office.
