An important exhibition collecting more than 70 works of art by famous French painter Paul Gauguin coming from 12 international museums (among which, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Musée d’Orsay, The Art Institute of Chicago) and private collections. ‘Gauguin. Tales from Paradise’ (Gauguin. Racconto dal Paradiso, in Italian) analyzes the many inspirations coming from different geographic areas that influenced the painter’s production ranging from French region of Bretagne to Egypt, from Peru to Cambodia and reaching the most mature period of his art in Polynesia. A true travel across the world through the eyes of a great artist, able to combine tradition and innovatin into a new, original style called ‘primitivism’.
