About the Exhibition

The Museo del Novecento in Milan and Mart, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, are staging two important exhibitions dedicated to Margherita Sarfatti.

A writer, journalist, art critic and promoter of Italian culture, Margherita Sarfatti played a pivotal role in 20 th century history. Designed as an immersive experience, the exhibition invites visitors to follow a storyline that explores Margherita’s private and public activities, narrated through approximately 90 works by protagonists of the Italian Novecento movement. The paintings and sculptures of 40 artists, including Boccioni, Borra, Bucci, de Chirico, Dudreville, Funi, Malerba, Sironi and Wildt are contextualized by film clips, photographs, letters and period books, as well as clothing and furnishings, offering a broad overview of Milan in the 1910s and 1920s.
