About the exhibition
The Pirelli HangerBicocca, in the vast spaces of the Navate, is displaying 30 different igloos created between 1968 and 2003 by Mario Merz, a central figure of Arte Povera. The igloo is one of the symbols of his work, often made using metal structures covered with fragments of various materials, including clay, glass, stone, jute and iron, a metaphor for inhabited places and spaces, for the relationship between inside and outside, between the physical and conceptual location and between individual an collective space.
