About the exhibition
The spaces of Palazzo Morando. Costume, Moda, Immagine pay tribute to the relationship between clothing and jewellery from the 1950s to our days with the exhibition “STILE MILANO. Storie d’Eleganza”. Located on the first floor of the historical palace, the display is focused on the elegance of Milan and on the impact the city had on designers and on their creations. Thanks to a selection of jewels, STILE MILANO tells of the various ways the Milanese brands have interpreted the concept of style, by creating their own distinctive details and handmade collections.
Into more details
Jewels on loan interact with garments that are part of the permanent collection of the museum to document the history of the Milanese craftsmanship. Starting from the booming 50s to the revolutionary 1960s up to the “lead years” of the 1970s and the happiness of the 80s and to the pop years of the 1990s, the exhibition analyses the evolution of the Milanese costume and jewellery through the ages.
