About the race
Starting from its very first edition held in 1950, the Formula1 World Championship in Monza, also known as ‘Formula 1 Gran Premio Heineken d’Italia’ is one of the leading races in the worldwide F1 championship and is one of the most eagerly-awaited events in Italy. Monza, known to F1 fans worldwide as The Temple of Speed, is the quickest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar; a breathtaking drive that scythes its way through the beautiful setting of the Parco Reale and the Autodromo.
Traditionally held on the first or second weekend of September, this year the race is held from 4 to 6 September. The qualification legs are held on Friday and Saturday, though the most awaited event is held on Sunday in the afternoon when cars and drivers start their battle to win the highest position on the podium.
