Please note that the official dates for the Fuorisalone 2020 have been switched from 21 – 26 April to 16 – 21 June.
A virtual Fuorisalone
Although this year’s Salone del Mobile. Milano has been postponed to its 2021 edition for the COVID-19 emergency, its collateral event – the Fuorisalone – does not stop its event planning, though under different virtual formats. The brand-new 4 digital formats are powered in collaboration with the Fuorisalone committee featuring protagonists of the main design districts and are set to become part of the Fuorisalone.it platform. The formats – which are named Fuorisalone.Tv, Fuorisalone Meets, 米兰设计周 Fuorisalone Cina and Fuorisalone Japan – have been conceived to provide those companies who were supposed to display their latest creations during the Design Week 2020 with an instrument to share their projects and communicate with the main protagonists in the sector, as well as to the wider public.
The organizing committee is made of representatives of the following districts: Brera Design District; Ventura Projects; Zona Tortona with Tortona rocks, Tortona Area Lab, BASE and Superstudio Più; inBovisa; 5vie; Porta Venezia in design and the Asia Design Milano project.
Even though the real Fuorisalone format could not be kept for the 2020 edition, from 16 to 21 June a specific area within the official Fuorisalone.it website is set to be filled with videos featuring interviews, talks and product presentations by the main protagonists of the Italian and international design scene, plus previews if new creations and contents powered by companies wishing to introduce upcoming trends with an innovative format.
Education and product promotion are the protagonists of Fuorisalone Meets thanks to an online platform – available all-month-long in June – featuring webinars targeted at putting companies in contact with partners, customers, dealers and a selected audience. The launch of new products, as well as new ways of sharing strategies, are some of the core themes.
米兰设计周 Fuorisalone Cina
April 2020, in contemporary with the days which were once supposed to host the Design Week 2020, Fuorisalone is launching its official accounts and channels on WeChat, Weibo and Tencent Video to start a strong and enduring collaboration with the main Chinese Design Weeks. The channels also provide a new chance for network building with Chinese companies active in the design sector.
April also marks the opening of a new web platform dedicated to Japan and conceived to enable Japanese architects, designers and companies to communicate the best of Japanese design and lifestyle. Moreover, thanks to this platform a specialised team from Italy and Japan is promoting the culture of the Milano Design Week through dedicated consultation services.
