An ode to jewellery
Milano Jewelry Week, the festival dedicated to the word of jewels, makes its comeback in the city for its second edition. Revolving around historical buildings, high jewellery ateliers, goldsmith workshops, academies, art galleries, fashion boutiques and design showrooms in town, the event features a rich calendar which includes collective and solo exhibitions, vernissages, exhibitions of international galleries and schools, prize-giving evenings, workshops, cocktail parties and performances. The festival is designed to tell the story of jewellery from various points of view, from history to technique, passing through contaminations with art and fashion.
Besides displaying beautiful creations, the event also focuses on clusters such as the importacne of recycle, sustainability as well as the choice of materials and manufacturing techniques.
What’s on?
The festival features various events-within-the-event wich include Artistar Jewels, The Jewelry Hub, Jewelry Drops and Talent Show, as well as educational and training initiatives held by professionals in the sector.
Artistar Jewels – held in the exclusive backdrop of the highly-central Palazzo Bovara – gathers the contemporary jewels and creations of over 200 artists and designers from 40 countries and serves as a celebraion of creativity.
Coversely, The Jewelry Hub showcases the latest creations from 40 precious jewellery brands, selected according to strict criteria, in a visually striking setting in a building steeped in history in the centre of Milan.
The event also embraces the phygital dimension thanks to the Jewelry Drops initiative enabling international artists and designers to take part in the event, both in person and remotely and showcase their creations.
