About Milano Pride 2020
Every year on late June, Milan celebrates LGBTQI pride with the annual Milano Pride, a widespread event powered by Milan’s CIG Arcigay. This week-long event – also known as Milano Pride Week – is open to everybody without the need of an Arcigay card and culminates in the traditional “sfilata”, a parade to celebrate LGBTQI rights and free love. This year the parade is held on 27 June. On this occasion, the streets around via Lazzaretto, via Lecco, via Castaldi, largo Bellintani and piazza Oberdan become a real ‘Pride Square’, the place to be for debates and talks on gay rights, on sexually transmitted diseases and also serves as a meeting space. In the whole area revolving around Porta Venezia – considered the headquarters of the Milanese LGBTQI community – all visitors can enjoy free tests on HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.
