About the exhibition
For the first time, the whole dreamlike universe and the concrete life of surrealist artist René Magritte is the absolute protagonist of a multimedia exhibition set in the spaces of Fabbrica del Vapore. The digital and multisensory experience curated by Belgian art historian Julie Waseige features over 160 selected images, surrounded by sounds, music and entertaining special effects born to recreate the scenes depicted by the great maestro.
Into more details
The atmospheres and the subjects of Magritte’s production, considered among the most well-known images of painting from the early 1900’s are brought back to life thanks to the technologically-advanced Matrix X-Dimension® system, providing the images with realistic effects. The artist’s men with a bowler hat floating over the sky of the city, human bodies with a fish head and the ‘This is not a pipe’ masterpiece, depicted from the early years of the Surrealist movement and the early 1920s in Paris reflect the whole creative universe and the different periods of life of Magritte.
