About the exhibition
The spaces of the Arengario in Monza, located just a short distance from Milan, host a photo exhibition by the American master of photography Steve McCurry, featuring a selection of 70 shots on the theme of reading. People all ages, from all corners of the world, are depicted in their most intimate moments while enjoying the universal language of reading. Curated by Biba Giachetti, the exhibition has been conceived to create an ideal journey through various countries and cultures, supported also by a selection of texts and poems selected by Roberto Cotroneo.
Into more details
The images on display shot in Turkey, Cuba, India, Afghanistan, Western Asia, Africa and the USA feature youngsters, elderly people, poor and rich people, as well as religious and secular characters as the protagonists of the image. The setting is also enhanced by six video installations featuring practical advice by McCurry on the art of taking pictures, as well as by the special “Leggere McCurry” section dedicated to photography books by the American photographer from 1985. Some of the 15 books are rare publications which are almost impossible to be found elsewhere.
