About the exhibition
Sarah Moon (1941), alias Marielle Hadengue, a former French model turned photographer and filmmaker, has created a unique, unmistakable visual language; a dream-like world inhabited by images that are romantic, melancholy and ‘outside of time’. Milan pays tribute to her with two parallel exhibitions. The first at Armani/Silos features more than 170 small and large-scale images, in black and white and colour from the mid-1970s to 2018. The second, on show at the Fondazione Sozzani, includes a historical documentary about Lillian Bassman (‘There’s something about Lillian’, 2001) and a short film titled ‘Contacts’ (1995).
