Piazza Castello has changed its appearance with an unusual ‘snowfall’, i.e. the new design project (called Nevicata14) featuring multi-purpose islands, free Wi-Fi and an array of flowering shrubs, delightfully shady, well equipped green spaces.
While visiting the Castello Sforzesco, make sure not to miss the new space assigned to Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini, the masterpiece on which the maestro was working just days before his death. It is now housed in the Old Spanish Hospital (recently fully renovated, see top photo) built in 1576 for the soldiers of the castle garrison, struck down by the plague.
