Open daily 7am-12am
Located on the west side of the Central Station overlooking Piazza IV Novembre and Via Sammartini, the brand new Mercato Centrale Milano opened its doors to offer a new meeting place for the Milanese and tourists. Following the model already opened in 2014 in Florence on the first floor of the historic San Lorenzo market, in 2016 in Rome at Termini Station and in 2019 in Turin at Porta Palazzo, the Milanese structure confirms the Mercato Centrale’s winning formula of craftsmanship, territory, meeting and cultural vocation. Open from 7am to midnight, this space offers the possibility of sitting down to eat or wandering around the shops doing your shopping – or deciding to have the Market delivered to your home by ordering specialities at home – meeting with friends or taking part in workshops, but also listening to good music.
A contemporary space where the atmospheres change from daytime to aperitif time and into the evening. There are 29 teams of artisans, spread over two floors, in a space of over 4,500 square metres (plus about 200 square metres of outdoor seating). Highlights include a sector entirely dedicated to fish, in the city that boasts the most important fish market in Europe; the shops where quality meat is a must, from Chianina to lampredotto, from hamburgers to beef ribs. The range of desserts is also irresistible, from gelato to Neapolitan pastries, from chocolate to panettone. Finally, there are also some incursions into ethnic cuisine with Chinese ravioli and empanadas… in short, a very varied food and beverage offer, where everyone can plan their own taste itinerary.
