Ticino a Tavola
The oldest food festival in the Canton Ticino area, “Rearassegna Gastronomica Mendrisiotto e Basso Ceresio,” takes place during October and is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. On the contrary, the “Maggio Gastronomico delle Tre Valli e del Bellinzonese” event in May, offers a slew of regional specialties and has now reached its 30-year milestone. Some of the other prominent food festivals sponsored by GastroTicino and “Ticino a Tavola,” a project that aims at arousing awareness about regional products, are:

  • Saporinlibertà” – A new spring initiative in the Lugano area offering locally-grown produce
  • “Al nos mangee” – Held at the end of October and features dishes from the Valle Leventina
  • “ Il piatto nostrano della Valle di Muggio” – Happens at the end of November
  • “Rassegna eno-gastronomica del Monte San Giorgio” – Held during spring
  • “Rassegna gastronomica sulla carne di capra” – Held in Locarno during November
  • “Rassegna gastronomica Verzasca e Piano” – Showcases fall harvest specialties
