The Sant’Eustorgio museum, lying adjacent to the basilica (main photo), includes the magnificent Portinari Chapel where visitors can admire frescoes by Vincenzo Foppa, the Solariane Chapels and the monumental sacristy. The foundation of the basilica itself is said to be from between the 3rd-4th centuries. The visitor can even catch a glimpse of the remains of an early 6th century church in the back apse.
