Uniqlo, Casualwear and LifeWear near the Duomo

by Giulia Minero
Uniqlo in Milan

Shopping dedicated to LifeWear

There’s a place in the heart of Piazza Cordusio where east meets west, and Tokyo meets Milan, with interesting exchanges that relate to architecture, design, culture and, above all, fashion. At its three-level megastore – opened in September 2019 after a long wait (check the new opening) – Japanese brand Uniqlo has paid tribute to the city of Milan with the display of an installation by Milanese artist Olimpia Zagnoli. There is also an assortment of Italian brands including Maruni, Medea, Rossignoli and Seletti, interspersed with decorative elements from the Land of the Rising Sun. Inside, the shop houses the entire range of products that have made Uniqlo a global icon of ‘smart fashion’, with apparel collections for men and women, including shirts, blouses, polo shirts, sweatshirts, coats, jeans and denim created with a particular focus on sustainability.

Uniqlo’s worldwide best sellers

You’ll also find the brand’s famous quilted gilets and Ultra Light Down jackets. In addition to these, there’s also a collection of cashmere knitwear, available in 50 different colours, plus an entire area dedicated to the largest UT collection of printed T-shirts and hoodies in Europe. The leitmotif of the entire collection is the philosophy of LifeWear, based on the Japanese core values of simplicity, quality and longevity, created using avant garde techniques, at prices that are affordable for everyone, and designed to reflect the style of each and every customer.
